MOM/ME CORNER:
HELLO DOLLIES,I AM ADDING A NEW ADDITION TO BLOG CALLED "MOM-ME",IT IS DEDICATED TO US MOTHERS,BESIDES DOING MAKEUP,RECEIPES,HAULS,AND OUTFITS REVIEWS,I WILL WRITING MY OPINIONS ON MOTHERHOOD AND SHOWCASING CHILDREN STUFF SUCH AS THE LATEST STYLES FROM MY TEENS DOWN TO THE LATEST STYLES FROM MY ADOLESCENT,THIS CORNER WILL BE DONE ON A TIME TO TIME BASES,BUT NONETHELESS,IT WILL BE DONE,THANK YOU,LOL NOW ON TO MY FIRST POSTING: TIPS FOR SINGLE PARENTS; As a single mother,I know first hand how fustrating it can be raising a child/children on your own.I am a single mother of 4 ages 15,13,12,and 8,I also work, and go to school,so to help keep me sane, here are a few tips I use to help keep the mind together: 1.assign chores-eveyone can do something,my oldest daughter she does the kitchen,my middle daughter does their bedroom,my only son does their bathroom, take out the trash, clean the garbage can,and cleans the dogs' pen,my youngest does the living room,I lways go and touch up when needed and I do "mommy's inspections".Do they fuss,YES,I have a time with my youngest, she is lazy, lol, like all youngest, she thinks she is the baby, and act like one.The middle always hates to clean their room, but does't want to do any other part of the house! How do I handle that?simply by NOT letting my gaurd down,if they don't do their chores, then I take away something they like, such as t.v.,computer,cellphones,telephones,snacks,and outside playing.I tell them that I donot have babies that are 2yrs or younger nor do I work for Merry Maids,if they want me to clean up after them, then they will have to PAY me.I also remind them, that picking up after themselves or doing chores at night gives them home advantage. In the end,I win,lol 2.Arrange 'MOMMY TIME' - This is my time to nap, read,or do whatever for 1 hour, they cannot bother me during that time, usually my gang likes to play so in the evning when chores are done, they are outside playing. 3.One of the biggest problems in my house is compromise especially when it comes to the computer,so I usually give them 30 minutes, after the girls are done,my son usually gets on it until he is tired, but I designate t.v.and computer time,I teach them about compromising. 4.if your children are young and/or if you are expecting a baby, definitely schedule bedtimes, naptimes, eating times, etc.you will find this VERY important.Whenever my children were young or when I was pregnant,I had them on a schedule, they arose and went down at the same time,I found this very helpful whenever I went back to work.Donot give up,it will take a while for this routine to work. Also, children cds and classical music was my best friend, lol,I recently stopped putting on classical music for my children, but still go back to it,whenever, they need help falling asleep.now it's all about Nikki Minaj,Drake,or Lil Wayne, lol or Katy Perry(my youngest reminded me,lol). 5.Hold meetings- I hold monthly meetings with my gang and post new info on the fridge, these meetings gives all of us an oppurtunity to get out feelings or fustrations or concerns,I also get to hear their point of views on things.I also have a notebook that they can use to write me a note if they want to discuss something privately, sometimes it don't work, because they use the time t talk to me whenever I am in the bathtub(except my son,he catches me in my room). 6.Get to know your children's friends-My 13 y/o had been acting out in school this year, this is her first year of jr.high and it has not been a good one(each of my children take trns acting out,my middle acted out all last year, now sh'e alright,my son every now and then, the youngest NO COMMENT,I have to amke her a lunch for every time she gets an A in conduct,I also pop up visit.)She was playing follow the leader, now that the girl has moved,I have seen a slight improvement,so,yes, get to know your child/children's friends. 7.Enlist the help of a family member or friend-from time to time their dad, grandmother or neighbor helps me,but since I have two older daughters, they pretty much watch their baby sister for me. that should be about it,but if I have anymore tips,I will include them in my next blog.
